Our high security barriers are crash rated to foil thefts

raid on haulageNorth West police are chasing a gang of three HGV raiders who are on the run after they smashed their way through haulage yard gates, driving £150,000 worth of stolen trucks. Bill Foulkes, operations manager at R J Jones haulage firm, described how the gang smashed their way out of the depot, through steel gates, and headed towards Heswall in the Wirral area. He said: "They must have been quite surprised to find the police on to them so fast.

Turnstiles perfect for high volume premises like Bexleyheath School

Turnstiles installed at Bexleyheath SchoolTurnstiles, made by Tensor, have been installed at Bexleyheath School in Kent, which is a co-educational comprehensive school open to students of all abilities between 11-19 years of age. The school became a Foundation School in September 2009 in partnership with Academies Enterprise Trust and Beths Grammar School. Approximately 2150 students attend the school with over 200 teaching, support and administrative staff.

Bollards to Restrict Access

Unauthorised access by travellers, particularly at night, has been an increasing problem across industrial areas in the South East of England. While security is not an issue during the day, a robust solution is required to secure these sites during the hours of darkness.

The practicalities associated with this type of installation rule out many potential physical security solutions. Automatic bollards are the most suitable method of security for this kind of situation as they can be raised and lowered according to the specific needs of each site.

Protecting Your Facility

Today’s barriers and bollards are capable of stopping and destroying a truck weighing up to 65,000 pounds and travelling at 50 mph. Such barricades can be raised or lowered at will to stop traffic or let it through.

When integrated properly into a total security system, including fences, lights, alarms, gates and other security components, vehicle barriers are a key measure in preventing threats to sensitive resources.

The Bollard Deterrent

Today’s security climate requires us to place increased emphasis on property protection and pedestrian safety. Whether it be safeguarding our homes, offices or the people within, often a physical implementation is required – especially if you are after a deterrent solution.

Turnstile Before Every Ride

Big name theme parks are revolutionising the way they control and monitor access to each and every ride within their park. Half height turnstiles, strategically placed in the queue systems around the park are offering a wealth of information to the management.

Used in conjunction with RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology on park passes, the turnstile allows entry whilst reporting who entered through it.

Club Members Play With RFID

Members of sports clubs across the country are increasingly using smart cards or key fobs with a 13.56 passive RFID tag to access facilities and buy goods and services.

All members are issued with their own personal smart card or key fob, which allows access to tennis, and basketball courts, swimming pools, sunbeds, saunas and cafeterias.

All Round Protection

Perimeter security fencing is the first line of defence around an organisation’s premises and is therefore vitally important. Furthermore, it is a significant factor in the first impression made on a visitor, whether they are welcome or unwelcome.

Analysing Security Needs

Developing a comprehensive security plan requires methodical and deliberate analysis. Starting with a macro understanding of an organisation and progressing to micro security tasks, it takes structure to compile and analyse a security plan.

The Most Stolen Car

Drivers of Vauxhall Belmonts are the most likely to have their cars stolen, are the startling results from a new Home Office study. The Vauxhall Belmont came ahead of Vauxhall Astras, Ford Escorts and Austin Metros in a list of the most stolen cars in 2005.

The research also revealed that the overall number of thefts in the UK has fallen by 16% between 2004 and 2005, with 38,394 fewer car thefts.
