A 50-year-old woman has been injured while being robbed in a car park. Police have appealed for witnesses, particularly anyone who saw two men in hooded tops.

Thieves were foiled in what would have been a case of literal daylight robbery. They attempted in the afternoon to steal from a museum, whose former status as a prison helped its security regime.

Police said two contractors used their position to help steal 3,500 tonnes of rail worth up to £1.5 million.
