Thieves were foiled in what would have been a case of literal daylight robbery. They attempted in the afternoon to steal from a museum, whose former status as a prison helped its security regime. Vanessa Trevelyan, director of Norfolk Museums and Archaeology Service, said of Norwich Castle Museum: “They were foiled by two members of my staff who very bravely tackled them causing the men to run off. Being a castle and one-time prison our perimeter security is very good.”
