New Car Park Barriers to Help Manage Traffic around Loch Muick and Linn of Dee

Very strict traffic management systems have been deployed at Loch Muick and Linn of Dee after the two Aberdeenshire beauty spots have been plagued by irresponsible parking in recent weeks, a recent news report in the local media has been able to suggest.

Both the Linn of Dee and Loch Muick in Deeside have been highly popular destinations during the school summer holidays.

And although many visitors have acted responsibly, a great deal of drivers have been arriving at the car parks, finding them full, and leaving their vehicles parked dangerously on verges or passing places, causing major access problems.

Access to Loch Muick will now be limited at the entrances to Glen Muick once the car park is full, with staffed barriers and cars only being allowed in if there is capacity in the car park.

And at the Linn of Dee near Braemar, once the Quoich and Linn of Dee car parks are full people will be asked to use a new overflow car park just before the Linn of Dee itself.

The formal restrictions will commence from Saturday, and last for 21 days.

A further extension beyond the initial 21-day period will be kept under consideration if required.

A statement from Aberdeenshire Council said: “This has been an exceptionally busy summer and Aberdeenshire Council, the Cairngorms National Park Authority and the estates are working closely together to try and ensure that people can enjoy these locations but that the demand does not exceed capacity to cope in these key locations.

Car Park Barriers & Turnstiles – the go-to company for reliable and affordable car park barriers and restrictions solutions

We can provide reliable and affordable access restriction barriers for any number of car parks.

Our automatic barriers can work in any weather and are able to immediately recognise authorised personnel. They are supplied complete and ready to accept power and data connections. The barrier arms are available in several different lengths, in order to suit all road widths and car park sizes.

If you need a barrier arm which is longer than 3m we advise that you also install a support post, in order to keep your lifting system working at full capacity for as long as possible.

We can also offer a range of related extras, such as a folding arm mechanism, an impact release mechanism, and a barrier skirt which stops people being able to duck under the barrier to obtain entrance.

Many elements of our car park barriers can be produced in any classic RAL colour you wish for an extra fee. This is great if you are focused on brand continuity throughout your site, or simply want to make the barriers stand out clearly.
