Bollards were installed outside a primary school in Staffordshire in a bid to stop parents from pulling up and parking directly outside its entrance, a news report in the local media was able to reveal.
Concerns were raised over road security around Hempstalls Primary School and the safety of pupils after a ‘number of near misses’.
For this reason, Staffordshire County Council decided to install the bollards outside the school.
A total of £7,000 came from the authority’s Divisional Highway Programme (DHP) – a scheme to enable local issues to be brought forward – to install the bollards.
