A scrap dealer avoided melting down an almost priceless sculpture only because he saw it on Crimewatch. The merchant was sold the distinctive stolen bronze item but recognised it from the BBC television programme. Two men had earlier stolen the artefact by the famous sculptor Henry Moore valued at up to £500,000. However the duo, who no doubt need a crash course from another BBC programme, Antiques Roadshow, sold the sculpture as scrap metal for a mere £46.
