Automated Car Park Barriers set to be Deployed at Cairngorm Mountain

The Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA)’s planning committee gave the go-ahead for the new solar-powered barriers at the exit and entrance of the Upper Coire Cas car park, a recent news report in the local media has been able to suggest.

People driving to the mountain will need to pay to park between April and October.

CNPA graduate planner Robbie Calvert said: “These are both low-impact developments with the barriers being minimalistic design and scale, and in the context of the main car park, existing signage, and wider ski infrastructure.

Eleanor Mackintosh, convener of the CNPA planning committee, added: “Supporting economic growth is extremely important at this time, so long as there are no negative landscape or environmental impacts, and in the scheme of things, these applications are minor.

“The lack of a masterplan for Cairngorm Mountain, while frustrating, is not grounds to refuse these developments.”

Car Park Barriers & Turnstiles – the go-to company for reliable and affordable car park barriers and restrictions solutions

We can provide reliable and affordable access restriction barriers for any number of car parks.

Our automatic barriers can work in any weather and are able to immediately recognise authorised personnel. They are supplied complete and ready to accept power and data connections. The barrier arms are available in several different lengths, in order to suit all road widths and car park sizes.

If you need a barrier arm which is longer than 3m we advise that you also install a support post, in order to keep your lifting system working at full capacity for as long as possible.

We can also offer a range of related extras, such as a folding arm mechanism, an impact release mechanism, and a barrier skirt which stops people being able to duck under the barrier to obtain entrance.

Many elements of our car park barriers can be produced in any classic RAL colour you wish for an extra fee. This is great if you are focused on brand continuity throughout your site, or simply want to make the barriers stand out clearly.
