New car park barrier system to help mitigate parking issues at Raigmore Hospital

It is hoped that a new car park barrier system and extra parking capacity at Raigmore Hospital will sort out the parking issues that have affected it in recent years, a news report in the local media can reveal.

At least one of the new overspill car parks will be open while barriers are also set to be operational as part of the £620,000 project.

The barriers are a particularly welcome development for campaigners who have been fighting to stop drivers using the facility as a free park-and-ride.

The NHS Trusts’ chief executive Iain Stewart said: “The work has been on for a couple of months at Raigmore car park. We were very fortunate to receive money from our endowment fund to create, I believe, an extra 200-plus spaces.

“And also there will be a new barrier system coming in which means people will not be able to abuse the car parking at the hospital.”

Car Park Barriers & Turnstiles – the go-to company for reliable and affordable car park barriers and restrictions solutions

We can provide reliable and affordable access restriction barriers for any number of car parks.

Our automatic barriers can work in any weather and are able to immediately recognise authorised personnel. They are supplied complete and ready to accept power and data connections. The barrier arms are available in several different lengths, in order to suit all road widths and car park sizes.

If you need a barrier arm which is longer than 3m we advise that you also install a support post, in order to keep your lifting system working at full capacity for as long as possible.

We can also offer a range of related extras, such as a folding arm mechanism, an impact release mechanism, and a barrier skirt which stops people being able to duck under the barrier to obtain entrance.

Many elements of our car park barriers can be produced in any classic RAL colour you wish for an extra fee. This is great if you are focused on brand continuity throughout your site, or simply want to make the barriers stand out clearly.
