Multiple automated, manually operated and static bollards to be deployed across Canterbury

A variety of automated, manually-retractable and static bollards are being deployed across Canterbury as part of the city council’s city centre security bollards scheme, a recent news report in the local media has been able to suggest.

The £789,000 project is being put in place on the advice of counter-terrorism police to stop a hostile vehicle being driven at pedestrians and involves the deployment of 105 bollards installed at 18 locations.

The council will write to nearby residents and businesses in advance of work starting at each site. The next on the schedule will be St Peter’s Street, St Peter’s Grove and Black Griffin Lane.
