New barriers and ANRP systems enable 24-hour operation at Shrewsbury multi-storey car park

A multi-storey car park in Shrewsbury could be offering 24-hour operation in the near future following a series of improvements to the site, which include in new payment machines, barriers and automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) solutions.

Shropshire Council, who was responsible for the upgrade works, wants the Raven Meadows car park to be available 24 hours a day. However, in order to achieve this goal, a new lift should be put in at the car park while extra security measures would also be required.

The car park layout will also be looked at. It currently has space for 856 cars, but that could be improved following the review.
