New car park barrier lock deployed to mitigate anti-social behaviour in Blackwood Showfield

Caerphilly County Borough Council will deploy a new car park barrier lock in an attempt to mitigate anti-social behavior in Blackwood Showfield, a news report has revealed.

Residents living near Blackwood Showfield were demanding action to stop antisocial behaviour at its car park after the council has cancelled funding allocated to the locking of car park barriers throughout the borough.

Since raising the issue with council officers, Blackwood’s Labour councillor Nigel Dix has been told the barrier will now be locked by community safety wardens each week night and will be unlocked by parks staff.

In addition, a CCTV camera will also be installed.
