Student library installs new turnstiles to bolster student safety

product-fullturn Student library installs new turnstiles to bolster student safetyA university library has decided to install security turnstiles as per request of Public Safety, choosing this particular solution because students are already used to that style of security gate.

The University of Delaware’s Morris Library will add the security measures as a way to improve the visitor’s safety.

A security welcome desk, manned by a student security monitor during library operating hours, will accompany these new turnstiles to accommodate visitors. Public borrowers from the community who purchase cards for $25 a year can still use the library and check out books.

“If someone comes in and they are not from the university, they just stop [at the welcome desk] and show some form of ID,” Sandra Millard, the interim vice provost and director of libraries, said. “There is no intention to keep people out, it’s simply to have it be safer when they come in.”

Car Park Barriers & Turnstiles supplies an extensive range of turnstiles, capable of supporting high traffic volumes, as well as the strictest security standards. Moreover, they’re galvanised with polyester powder coat finish for extra durability, which makes them perfectly suitable for both interior and exterior installations.

Additionally, they require no routine maintenance, are available in any RAL colour as a special order at low prices and are supplied complete with a 2 year warranty.
