One of Fleet’s best-known shopping centres has decided to invest £360,000 towards refurbishing its adjoining car park, a recent news report in the local media has been able to find.
The planned works will start on Monday September 7 and are expected to last for 10 weeks.
Caroleanne Baker, manager of the shopping centre, said: “We are very excited about this project which will improve the parking experience for shoppers in Fleet.
“The work includes resurfacing the spiral entrance and exit to the car park, redecoration as well as installing a new barrier and payment system on 21 September.”
The new parking system will use tickets rather than chip coins, which will be inserted into pay machines as before. Credit and debit cards will be accepted once work is completed.
