Colombian university installs turnstiles for improved access control

product-fullturn Colombian university installs turnstiles for improved access control One of Colombia’s largest universities has installed an advanced system featuring multiple turnstiles in a bid to better control visitor access on their site, a recent news report has revealed.

The University of Antioquia in Medellin, Colombia, is one of the largest education institutions in the country, with 28,000 visitors entering the premises each day. Such a high volume of visitors requires strict control of who can and cannot enter the institution.

To achieve such a level of management, the security staff decided to install four turnstiles at each of the six entrances to the campus as an integral component of a new integrated security system.

Each turnstile allows one person to pass every two seconds—a very important feature during rush hours when lines grow long quickly as students try to get to class on time and employees want to reach their offices.

Car Park Barriers & Turnstiles supplies an extensive range of turnstiles, capable of supporting high traffic volumes, as well as the strictest security standards. Moreover, they’re galvanised with polyester powder coat finish for extra durability, which makes them perfectly suitable for both interior and exterior installations.

Additionally, they require no routine maintenance, are available in any RAL colour as a special order at low prices and are supplied complete with a 2 year warranty.
