Market Place in Cirencester to undergo major transformation
Cirencester’s Market Place is set to undergo a major redevelopment as part of a project that will see the area outside the parish church pedestrianised to allow people to walk around the different shopping areas with more ease, a recent news report into the matter was able to reveal.
All 15 councillors on Cotswold District Council’s (CDC) planning committee voted in favour of the decades-in-the-making scheme. During the meeting, Cllr Joe Harris said: “This shared space is going to be a new experience for people. A lot of thought has gone into the design of the bollards and that goes back to the design of bells and that goes back to the 12 bells which we have in the Parish Church.”
Bollards will be used throughout the market place in order to protect pedestrians and prevent unlawful parking.
The Static Bollards supplied by Carpark Barriers Gates & Turnstiles are equally suitable for both ground or surface mount, are highly flexible in most situations and are available in both cast iron and wood versions, which means that customer will be able to choose either strength or cosmetic appearance, depending on the specific circumstances within which the bollard is set to be mounted.
From simple light weight timber bollards for demarcation purposes, separating pedestrians from traffic or for protecting vulnerable points like corners of buildings that could be accidentally hit by vehicles, static bollards are highly versatile and provide a genuine deterrent.
