Rising bollards to prevent vehicle access in Kettering town centre

product-bollardposts Rising bollards to prevent vehicle access in Kettering town centreRising bollards will be installed around Kettering’s town centre as part of the Council’s plans to convert the central shopping areas into a completely pedestrianised area, a recent news report in the local media was able to reveal.

The local authority argues that the bollards will not prevent delivery vehicles, but these will be restricted to arrivals between 5pm and 9am on Sunday to Thursday and between 5pm and 8am on Friday and Saturday. New bike racks are also to be included at the gateway locations.

Regeneration manager Alex Jelley commented on the plans: “The main aim of the scheme is to create a safe and welcoming environment in the town centre.

“The bollards will be installed in the first quarter of 2015.” he added.
