Colchester Council sets up new bollards to prevent rat runs

product-bollardposts Colchester Council sets up new bollards to prevent rat runsColchester Council has decided to install three bollards on a residential street after receiving complains from residents that it was being used as a rat run, a news report in the local media has recently revealed.

The need for restriction measures was highlighted during a Community Day of Action, in September, when residents in the area publicly complained about the low level of safety in the area.

Funds for the installation of the three bollards were also the result of a collaborative effort, as they were provided by the Safer Colchester Partnership, the area councillors and the council community zone team.

Tim Young, Colchester councillor responsible for community safety, said: “We listened to what residents said they wanted during the day of action and I am happy that we are able to respond in this way.

“I hope residents of Spurgeon Street will now feel safer in their road.”

The Static Bollards supplied by Carpark Barriers Gates & Turnstiles are equally suitable for both ground or surface mount, are highly flexible in most situations and are available in both cast iron and wood versions, which means that customer will be able to choose either strength or cosmetic appearance, depending on the specific circumstances within which the bollard is set to be mounted.

From simple light weight timber bollards for demarcation purposes, separating pedestrians from traffic or for protecting vulnerable points like corners of buildings that could be accidentally hit by vehicles, static bollards are highly versatile and provide a genuine deterrent.

The reliable and affordable Static Bollards from Carpark Barriers Gates & Turnstiles are available in any RAL colour as a special order at low prices, and if you’d like to find out more about them (or have any other query on this topic), then our dedicated product team can answer any question you might have.
