Bollards set to be erected in Loughborough to protect Jubilee site

product-bollardposts Bollards set to be erected in Loughborough to protect Jubilee site A site in the hamlet of Thorpe Acre, near Loughborough, Leicestershire, created to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee will have to be protected by bollards in order to prevent motorists from parking over it, a news report in the local media has revealed.

June Bush and Roy Campsall of the Thorpe Acre Residents Association (TARA) say people using The Ville Shopping Centre off Wordsworth Road are parking on and breaking the slabs that surround a tree planted in Her Majesty’s honour in 2012.

Mr. Roy Campsall, vice chairman of TARA, added: “We’ve got to raise some money now to put it right.

“We have thought about putting some bollards up to stop people parking on it.”

The Static Bollards supplied by Carpark Barriers Gates & Turnstiles are equally suitable for both ground or surface mount, are highly flexible in most situations and are available in both cast iron and wood versions, which means that customer will be able to choose either strength or cosmetic appearance, depending on the specific circumstances within which the bollard is set to be mounted.

From simple light weight timber bollards for demarcation purposes, separating pedestrians from traffic or for protecting vulnerable points like corners of buildings that could be accidentally hit by vehicles, static bollards are highly versatile and provide a genuine deterrent.
