Manchester car park goes “nuts”, charges conkers for access

product-autobarriers Manchester car park goes “nuts”, charges conkers for access As a part of a one-of-a-kind initiative for promoting the overall reduction in carbon levels, between the 18’th and the 22’nd of September, multi-storey Town Centre Car Parks (TCCP) at 30 Tariff Street on the easterly reaches of Manchester’s Northern Quarter has decided to accept conkers in exchange for parking.

As a news report in the local media has revealed, one conker was valued at 20p, and the unusual scheme was capped at a maximum of £10 (which equates to around 50 conkers). TCCP will then sponsor a forest in the UK to help offset the rising levels of carbon emissions from vehicles.

Ben Ziff, Managing Director of Town Centre Car Parks says: “Car emissions are on the rise throughout the country. We thought it would be a fun idea to raise awareness and give a little bit back. We all have fond memories of looking for conkers so this seemed like a great idea for our customers. We are looking forward to seeing how many people bring us.”
