According to a report in the local media on this topic, the car involved in the incident was driven by none other than Bury St Edmunds’ new mayor Terry Buckle.
 
A Tesco spokesman confirmed the decision had been made to install ‘at least one bollard in front of the store’, in order to prevent any other future unfortunate events of this type.
