A crime-busting initiative will launch in a retail park on Monday morning (June 11). The free fitting of tamper proof screws is offered to help stop number plate thefts at a midlands branch of Halfords. In co-operation with the police, who will also be available on the day to offer other crime prevention advice, the move was explained by Halfords: “We realise that the theft of number plates can be a huge inconvenience to motorists.”
