UK Power Networks said anyone entering a sub-station, other than trained engineers, was risking lives after thieves caused a power cut to hundreds of homes. Their actions this week in attempting to steal cabling from a substation meant the properties in Cambridgeshire were left without power overnight. UK Power Networks said: “We take incidents like this very seriously. Thieves risk serious injury and death by tampering with our equipment.”
