Theft incidents at properties and facilities belonging to the national railway company shot up in the last financial year by more than half. Dyan Crowther, director of operational services at Network Rail, said cable thieves deny passengers the service they expect. He added: “We are doing everything we can to protect the railway and will continue to work closely with other rail partners to do everything in our power to deter thieves and bring those who attack our network to justice.”
