A survey conducted by Gate Safe highlighted a high level of risk among automated gates. It shows that a huge 88 per cent of the gates surveyed failed to comply with current health and safety guidelines in relation to the inclusion of recommended features/procedures designed to reduce the risk of injury. Gate Safe is the national safety campaign supported by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.
