British Telecom are compelled to come up with clever methods to foil thefts of copper contained in their local cable network, which leave affected areas cut off and cost BT millions of pounds every year. BT’s Openreach Division has started to use SmartWater, an invisible solution which forensically tags thieves, staying on their skin for up to 60 days. There were more than 200 arrests last year for this type of offence. Anyone arrested for metal theft will be examined for traces of SmartWater.
Companies with large sites, often in areas which are cut off from a police presence, can make their premises more secure with Carpark Barriers and Turnstiles technology. The key role of barriers is to prevent unauthorised access whilst providing minimum inconvenience to those who do have authorisation. Our systems can stop vehicles at the relevant barrier and disallow entry or exit until they are identified. Your turnstile can be equipped to be used as a security device, controlling the admission of visitors. Ideal for both high and low risk premises, our wide range of products are operated by smart cards.
