A unique car park has come to the United Kingdom. The amazing facility has opened in the midlands, and is the first car park in the UK that dispenses with having to finding a space. The car goes into a ‘transfer garage’, the driver exits, then the vehicle is lowered into the three-storey car park. When the driver wants the car back they simply swipe a special key fob. The vehicle is then collected and lifted back up to the garage.

The government has rejected claims that re-offending rates will go up if emergency deficit busting measures continue on their course. The Probation Service said there will be more victims of crime if "draconian" public spending cuts of 25 per cent go ahead in this autumn’s spending review. However, the government has said there is no evidence that cuts to the Probation Service would lead to an increase in crime.

An explosion in some public toilets at Weston-super-Mare is being looked into by police. A woman used a forged passport for seven years before being caught. Qamar Yasmeen went on to gain a drivers licence and find work under a false name after stealing an identity. Yasmeen was imprisoned, while investigators said the deception had devastating consequences on the victim, who has not been named. In 2007, Yasmeen travelled to Pakistan and got married using her victim’s name, sponsoring her husband so that he could return with her to the UK.

Pressure group Big Brother Watch is calling for snooping powers designed to combat terrorism to be removed from councils. Vehicle owners are being hoodwinked by a fake parking ticket scam that demands payment, and includes a £1-per-minute ‘phone information line’ for disputes. The tickets, which look almost identical to a genuine item, are being stuck onto legally parked cars. They demand £68, or £34 if the ‘fine’ is paid within 14 days. Tickets have been found in Cheshire and Staffordshire, issued by a company called Parked Vehicles Division Limited.
